Today, I did a presentation at a Teachers' Training College, where I showed a group of Danish students this painting by Michael Soi. I asked them what they saw. One guy explained he saw how China is entering Africa, i.e. aiding construction and infrastructure, but at the same time demanding its resources, not necessarily for the benefit of Africa.
He had never seen the painting before or ever heard of The art of Soi Michael.
Now, he and the other group of students are rarely to forget Michael Soi. I also realised that these paintings are great conversation openers.
